Open Health Networks (OHN) is a system that allows community leaders in rural Guatemala to send coded text messages to report the availability – or lack thereof — of medication, health care equipment and other concerns, with the goal of increasing knowledge of basic, individual health care rights and citizen empowerment and to open up the communication channels between indigenous communities, Healthcare Non-profit CEGSS (Centro de Estudios para la Equidad y Gobernanza en los Sistemas de Salud) and state and federal government agencies and resources.
